On December 19, 2013, the New Mexico Supreme Court made the Land of Enchantment the 17th state to recognize the freedom to marry.

We then had to defend that win.

★ 5,288 postcards delivered to legislators from their constituents in support of the freedom to marry

★ Over 150 small businesses throughout New Mexico organized in support of marriage equality

★ Dozens of endorsements, including New Mexico Federation of Labor, Albuquerque Teachers Federation, the New Mexico Psychological Association, Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico, and New Mexico Green Chamber of Commerce

★ Freedom to marry protected; DOMA attempt failed to be heard in committee
